Asia Cup 2023 Trophy Winners – India ($150,000 Prize Money)
Skipper Rohit Sharma received the Asia Cup 2023 winning prize of $150,000. He also received the trophy from ACC executive and BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The skipper had this to say about his team after they extended India’s dominance in continental cricket:
“Yeah was a great performance. To come out and play like that in the final shows the mental character. Great start with the ball and a clinical finish with the bat. Asia Cup 2023 Runner-Up Awards – Sri Lanka ($75,000 Prize Money)
“It was an outstanding bowling display from Siraj. I thought it’d be a good pitch for batters, but overcast conditions played a part. Tough day for us at the office. We could’ve tightened our technique and would’ve helped batters settle in and free their arms later. Lots of positives. The way Sadeera and Kusal batted against spin, Also the way Asalanka batted. “For the last one and a half years, been working on my rhythm. Being more aggressive through the crease. Loving my bowling. In T20s also the length matters a lot. Ground Staff Awards – ($50,000 Prize Money)
Sri Lanka had to grapple with rain issues throughout the tournament. It is clear that ground staff made the tournament possible with their increased work rate throughout this tournament. The entire ground staff got an award and cash prize of $50,000 for their effort towards making Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka a success.
