Man of the Cricket match awards are given to the most deserving players in every game. When a player is named man of the match, it indicates that they have made the most significant and most acceptable contribution to their nation.

Cricket legends are few and few between, but a few players have won several man-of-the-match honors in ODIs. Since there are so many excellent players in ODI cricket, it would be interesting to see which one has won most man of the match accolades.

Sachin Tendulkar (Indian cricketer)

Sachin Tendulkar is a household name and does not require an introduction. He is widely regarded as one of the best cricketers of all time, and his stats confirm it. He won 62 man-of-the-match accolades in 23 years proves that he was a fantastic player. When he was at his peak, he could carry the squad and win games for India on his own. He’s had a significant impact on the one-day international match, and he holds every batting record there is. Even after eight years in retirement, he’s still adored by the people of India.

Sanath Jayasuriya

He is one of Sri Lanka’s all-time best cricketers. Several man-of-the-match accolades were given to Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya for his aggressive top-order style of play, which threw off opposing bowlers and allowed him to score many runs for his nation. Still, cricket fans worldwide miss and revere him as an all-time great.

Virat Kohli

Only 13 years into his career, he’s already ranked third on this list, proving his supremacy over the 50-over format. Virat Kohli has broken every record his hero Sachin had ever held in one-day cricket, and his pursuing style is the finest ever. Isn’t it amazing that Virat has won so many man-of-the-match honors in a short time? He is the only player in Indian cricket history who has done this so many times in such a short period.

Jacques Kallis

South Africa’s finest all-rounder has won matches with bat and ball in equal measure, making him an all-time great. Both as a batter and a bowler, he has impressive stats. That he earned 32 men of the match honors demonstrates how many games South Africa won on his own, and the supporters will miss him. As a cricketer, he was one of a kind.

Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting was one of the most exemplary ODI cricket leaders and one of the greatest batsmen of the contemporary era. His batting style was flawless for Australia, as he smashed long innings and won several matches. His squad benefited from his aggressiveness as a player and leader. Since his retirement, he has received 32 Man of the Match accolades, demonstrating the consistency he performed on the cricket field.

Brian Lara

Many people consider him one of the most incredible batters of all time. Several cricketing records are held by him, including the record for the most outstanding individual score in a test inning, which he achieved against England in Antigua in 2004 with a score of 400. In 299 ODI games spanning the years 1990-2007, he was named player of the match 30 times.

Kumar Sangakkara

Kumar Sangakkara, a Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman and right-arm off-break bowler, is ranked ninth globally. From 2000 to 2015, in 404 ODIs, he was named player of the match 31 times.

Shahid Khan Afridi

Shahid Khan Afridi is, without a doubt, the greatest cricketer of all time. As a result of his aggressive batting approach, Boom Boom is best recognized. After Jacques Kallis, he is the second player in international cricket history with at least 10,000 runs and 500 wickets. On our list of the best, he’s in fourth place. He was named player of the match 32 times throughout his ODI career, which spanned from 1996 to 2015.

Viv Richards

Known as Viv (or King Viv), he is considered one of the most incredible batters of all time and cricket’s best performers. Throughout his 187 ODI appearances from 1975 to 1991, he was named player in 31 of those matches.
