The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a $2.45 million cash award to winners of the T20 World Cup 2024. Champions of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 will receive a bumper cash prize higher than any other winner in this competition’s history.
The ICC announcement also revealed the following prize list for other participants at the competition:
- Runners-up – $1.28 million
- Semi-finalists – $787,500
- Second round finish – $382,500
- Between 9th and 12th place – $247,500
- Between 13th and 20th place – $225,000
All teams will also receive $31,150 for each game won apart from semi-finals and final fixtures. The ICC had this to say about jacking up prize money for participants at the tournament:
“This event is historic in so many ways, so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that. Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be entertained by the players in what we’re hoping to be an Out of This World event.”
