The sixteenth edition of IPL cricket saw several exciting performances from top youngsters like Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal. These youngsters are yet to receive a call-up from Team India, but the signs show they’ll be in a national side pretty soon.

Yashasvi was able to hit five half-centuries and a century this season, eclipsing the performance of several established and capped Indian internationals. Jaiswal also recorded a near century (98 runs) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) this season.

Akash Madhwal – 14 wickets at 15.64 (5-5)
Mumbai Indians (MI) prodigy Akash Madhwal registered one of the most impressive IPL performances in recent memory. His record-breaking five-wicket haul with less than 1.6 economy rate catapulted him into conversations to feature for Team India.
The currently uncapped MI bowler impressed this year in the Eliminator series and throughout group games. He has one of the hardest death bowling performances among IPL players. Akash ended this season with a decent 8.09 economy rate in the last few overs. He also assumed fast bowling duties for MI this season to cover up for Jofra Archer’s and Jasprit Bumrah’s absence.
Prabhsimran Singh – 358 runs at 25.57 (1 half-century and 1 century)
Prabhsimran Singh only played six matches in four IPL season prior to 2023. However, his performances this year have earned him an elevated status among teammates. The 22-year-old batter amassed an impressive 358 runs this season, fifteen runs behind top team scorer, Shikhar Dhawan.
Singh’s exciting performances have shown his ability to bat under pressure with an impressive strike rate (150.4). He also becomes one of very few uncapped IPL players with a ton of runs. Singh achieved this feat against Delhi Capitals (DC) bowlers, overcoming the opposing in a crunch tie this season.
Suyash Sharma – 10 wickets at 32.10 (3-30)
Suyash Sharma was an uncapped player with no professional experience when he signed for the Kolkata Knight Riders. His impressive streak of performances since debuting for KKR has been nothing short of spectacular. Suyash teamed up with Varun Chakravarthy and became one of KKR’s most reliable spin bowlers this season.
He also took over Sunil Narine’s role when the former starter’s form dipped badly. Sharma’s form saw him end this season with the third-most wickets taken among his teammates, recording 10 scalps after 11 games.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s dip in form for Team India and the national team’s need for a capable leg spinner has elevated Sharma’s chances to earn a call-up. Sharma could be a major player for the Men in Blue soon if the team need a replacement player for short formats of international cricket.
Rinku Singh – 474 runs at 59.25 (4 half-centuries)
Rinku Singh has been an IPL player for some time, putting in several impressive performances in for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The KKR batsman turned his IPL 2023 season around quite early, morphing into a huge sensation across fan bases this year.
Singh, yet uncapped, has put in several exciting performances with his immense ability to score fours and sixes against several tough teams. His 2023 IPL season performances has put his name well into the conversation to represent India in future competitive games.
Singh showed an ability to offer consistent individual performances all season, blocking off pressure from strong opposing teams in crunch games. Rinku recorded 474 runs this season across 14 games with a 59.25 average and 149.5 strike rate.
Opposing bowlers and fielders always have a hard time against KKR due to Rinku’s stellar performances this season. He has managed to become one of the most talked-about batters in IPL 2023 with top shifts across matches. Singh is now a top contender to represent India at future tournaments with several legends like Sanjay Manjrekar and Virender Sehwag suggesting his entry into Team India
